B. Guided Practice: Complete the odd numbered questions on pages 2 - 3 of the Student Refresher. The answers for those are in the back of the booklet. Look at sample questions from the even numbered questions. If needed complete the questions and check your answers in the back of the booklet. If you know how to solve all of the questions in this section, you should have few difficulties in the next.

C. Independent Practice: The following questions need to be completed. These questions are based on the corresponding pages in the Student Refresher. Show your work.

1. To which number system (s) does the number 11 belong?
2. The decimal form of 1/4 is an integer? True or False, explain your answer.
3. The temperature in the evening is now around 6o C. The change in temperature from the heat of the day is 16o C. What was the initial temperature?
4. Write a set of numbers to fit the description: a rational number + an integer + a whole number = -3.56
5. State one similarity and one difference between whole numbers and rational numbers.
